The pool required shock chlorination -The pool is open again.

Hello neighbours and owners,

the water quality checks carried out this morning at the pool by the pool attendant and the administration showed the correct chlorine and PH values.

The pool is open again.
Have fun “bathing”.

First of all to explain why the shock chlorination had to be carried out.

The Jakuzzis have been running full of water for two to three years. Twice a year the pool attendant had to pump this water out. It could not be found out where this water came from.
This year we asked Fernando to pump out the water among the Jakuzzis.
Fernando, from my point of view a very good craftsman, made it his business to see where the water comes from.
After hours of searching, Fernando noticed that whenever there is a shower, water flows into the depository under the Jakuzzis.
When the Depositos under the Jakuzzis are full the water should flow out through the overflow, but this did not work.
The water ran and overflows and floods the Jakuzzis.

Soon it was clear that the main overflow pipe is blocked. Unfortunately, TM has no plans for this pipe installation. Fernando started to look for the pipes, but as always, the larger
Earthworks and separation work on the Jakuzzis.

In this scope of work we also found out that the overflow pipe of the main pool also flows into the overflow pipe of the Jakuzzis via a mini septic tank. In the mini septic tank there is mud and rotten water. We have pumped out this water to reduce the backflow into the pool.

Now I come to the actual incident why the pool turned green. In the afternoon hours a very intensive bad weather front passed over our facility. This brought about 20 to 30 litres of water
per m2 with. Our pool has about 400 m2 water surface which means 10000 litres more water in the pool. This water filled the deposit of the pool and the water should be drained over the overflow, but this was not possible due to the blockage in the area of Jakuzzi 1.
So the water backed up and also the mini septic tank was backed up in the deposit over this period of time which led to the contamination of the pool.
The pool turned dark green within three days.

All attempts to remove the contamination in the short term were unsuccessful.
The last possibility before the water had to be changed completely was shock chlorination.
The shock chlorination was successful within two days.

Of course there are also the following side effects, we have to wait until the chlorine content in the water has evaporated to such an extent that bathing without health risks is possible.

The chlorine content is measured daily and then a decision is made whether to release the pool again.

Now the pool is clear again but bathing is not yet possible.

Until this time the pool area is closed!
